In the News…

Welcome to Scottsdale Pop Warner 2014. We have finalized our rosters and you should expect an e-mail from your head coach in the next day or two. The first official Scottsdale Pop Warner practice for all players/cheerleaders is August 2, 2014 at Desert Mountain High School (DMHS). This will also double as our organization’s ‘Parent Meeting’ where we are respectfully requiring at least one parent for each player to attend. We will be discussing all things football including organizational/team fundraising and sponsorships. We will have the ability to receive funds that day so please take that under advisement.

Player and parent check-in will begin at 0730hrs in front of the Main Gym at DMHS that leads down to the Main Football Field. Players must a have a signed ‘Pop Warner Physical Form’ on file before they are allowed to practice. If you have not submitted it yet we will be collecting them at check-in. Players need to be in football cleats and black athletic shorts and will be given a white ‘Scottsdale Pop Warner’ t-shirt upon check-in before being directed down to the field. We will have hydration stations set-up for the players but feel free to send you player with his own water at your discretion. Please note this is a practice so have your player/cheerleader hydrating the day before practice. Parents will be directed into the Main Gym for the ‘Parent Meeting’ after their player is checked-in.

The following is the player’s schedule for August 2, 2014:

0730 – 0800 = Player/Parent check-in

0830 – 1030 = Tackle Sure tackling clinic (no protective equipment required)

1030 – 1200 = Onsite BBQ

We will be hosting an organizational BBQ down by the Main Football Field that will begin at approximately 1030hrs to coincide with the ending of practice and we will conclude at approximately 1200hrs. This will be an opportunity to introduce and interact with teammates, coaches and parents.
